Wessex Mead (Trowbridge) Rotary Club

My first month as President has passed with great optimism from the club for the new format. 

We seem to be pressing ahead with our plans for the forthcoming year, which include our carnival quiz on 18^th October and annual Bavarian Night on 12^th March 2011.  Full speed ahead for our second big breakfast, date and venue to be confirmed soon.  All our youth events should be continuing this year as well as hopefully, a new event based around Kids make music – more details to follow soon.

Looking back on this month, many members went on a visit to Wadworth’s brewery and were joined by Trowbridge Lions, some members of a neighbouring Rotary club and some friends of Rotary.  Then on 19^th July Julia and I hosted a pasta evening at our house to raise money towards our twinning fund – this was very successful and enjoyed by all those who attended (as the empty plates proved!) At my first business meeting we were joined not only by the District Governor, Stan but also the assistant DG, David.  The meeting seemed to go well and they were pleased to hear about our plans for the forthcoming year. 

I am looking forward to the rest of my Rotary year and will have more to tell you at the end of August.
