This year, the Rotary Club of Wessex Mead has donated 60 Usborne Illustrated Dictionaries as a school resource to 3 Primary Schools in Trowbridge. This is part of the Rotary International Dictionary 4 life project, which aims it to promote Literacy around the world. The dictionaries include 1,000 illustrations, 10,000 entries and 220,000 definitions printed in full colour on paper from a sustainable forest - an asset to any classroom.
Rotarians from Wessex Mead visited the Primary Schools of Grove, Newtown, and Holbrook in their school assemblies, to give the presentations. Children representing the school accepted the gifts.
This is the second year that the Rotary Club have donated these dictionaries to Trowbridge Schools, and hope to be able to donate more dictionaries to schools next year.
