March started with our annual Bavarian Night. Always well supported, I volunteered to help cook the sausages in the kitchen. We were so busy but I'm pleased to say we sold almost all the bratwurst and bockwurst. Final figures are to be confirmed, so if you attended the Bavarian Night, watch this space! On 16th March the Youth Committee arranged for us to watch a DVD in Red or White. We chose to watch Hancock, with Will Smith. This was an excellent choice especially when backed up by popcorn and other nibbles. 2 weeks later we had a Pub Challenge evening at the Bustard Club. This was organised by our Club Committee. We split into teams and competed against one another in darts, skittles, dominoes and table skittles. I can't remember which team won but it was good fun, all the same! These months are certainly flying by, I can't believe how much of my year has gone already. Into April and although we don't normallhy meet on bank holidays a few of us went to Longwell Green to watch "The Boat that Rocked". This was such a brilliant film - all about pirate radio. If you grew up during the era of Radio Caroline, this is certainly one to see. For 7 years, the Rotary Club of Wessex Mead has been the youngest club in District 1200. Well we lost that title on Thursday 16th April. A new club, the Rotary Club of Weymouth Harbourside was chartered and 4 of us made the trip to Weymouth for this event. Good luck Weymouth Harbourside, welcome to the family of Rotary. Has anyone been to Marston House, near Frome? Well, our friends, the Rotary Club of Westbury had their Presidents Night there on 17th April. It's a super venue in a wonderful location. If you get the chance to go there, do, it was lovely. Nearly finished for this month. Monday 20th, our annual Pub Quiz held this time at the Bustard Club. Final figures yet to be confirmed but a good time was had by all. We have our Business Meal on Monday at Red or White and we are looking forward to welcoming on of our former members, Amy. See you in May
