April gave us the opportunity to bring a cultural theme into the club. Starting with the fish and chip supper quiz in aid of the Wiltshire Air Ambulance appeal. It was very well organised by our Treasurer, Andrew, assisted by other members of the club. We had a good mixture of questions, and a good time was had by all the teams.
On a sunny Sunday, I had a family outing to Burnham on Sea Presidents Lunch which took place at Batch Farm. It was a nice opportunity to catch up with old friends from the Burnham on Sea club. It was a nice meal accompanied by the Night Owls, a ukulele jazz group.

Our business meeting in April included our AGM which was a good opportunity to reflect on events that had taken place so far in this Rotary year.
Over the Easter weekend we hosted 5 couples from the Rotary Club of Rodez Espalion. This was a great opportunity to catch up with what feels like old friends, having visited them in September 2009. A full report on this can be seen on our website. This was an extremely full on experience hosting our couple. It was very interesting to talk to them about all sorts of matters to do with everyday life, and to hear how similar their everyday lives are. The whole weekend was a great success and we hope to visit them again soon.
Rounding off April we went to Leigh Park Hotel for Trowbridge Rotary Clubs Presidents Night, for which they were also joined by their twin club, St. LÔ. We had a good evening with our friends from Trowbridge and great entertainment from the table magician, Dave Jones. It is amazing what you can find inside a lemon!

Moving into May and I am looking forward to my Presidents Night with its murder mystery theme.
